Q. CFP Results? A. Acceptance notices were sent by April 1, 2019 to the main individual submitting the proposal. Please check with the point person for round tables, panels, group proposals, etc. If you submitted and individual presentation and did not hear from us, please email us at malcssi2019@malcs.org.

Q. How do I join MALCS? A. https://malcs.wildapricot.org/join-us

Q. Do I need to become a MALCS member to attend the Summer Institute? A. Yes. You have to be an active member to be able to register.

Q. What are the registration fees for the Summer Institute A. EARLY BIRD REG FEES IF PAID BY JUNE 1, 2019: $50 — Faculty / Administrator / Professional members; $25 — Student members: <p>$15 — Community members. After June 01, 2019 registration fees will double. REGISTRATION FEES IF PAID BY JULY 1, 2019: $100 — Faculty / Administrator / Professional members: $50 — Student members; $30 — Community members

Q. I am having issues with activation of my membership to register for the Summer Institute? A. Please email Vanessa Fonseca, MALCS Membership Coordinator, at membership@malcs.org.

Q.I am having issues with Pay Pal or I accidently was charged twice? A. Please email Sandra Pacheco, MALCS Treasurer, at sandra@malcs.org.

Q. I need an invoice and need to write a check? A. Please email Lupe Gallegos, MALCS Administrative Coordinator at lupe@malcs.org. MALCS Address: MALCS – Atten: Lupe Gallegos, 1404 66th Street, Berkeley, CA 94702.

Q. What is the set-up of the residential halls? A. Reservations are for one room within a suite. We will try accommodate preferred suite-mates but cannot guarantee. UMASS Residential Hall are located within walking distance to all Summer Institute activities. UMASS policy prohibits alcohol, medical marijuana, or tobacco within the residence halls. There’s not front desk per se but I’ll as the SI approaches I’ll get info about where dorm check-in will take place. Once folks have keys/cards, they can enter any time since there’s not front desk. Location is the North Apartments, 58 Eastman Lane, Amherst, MA. Rooms may be reserved for Thursday, July 18; Friday, July 19; and Saturday July 20, 2019. Q. Are bath towels provided in the residential hall? A. Yes

Q. Will there be internet access in residential halls A. Yes, we’ll get the codes before the SI begins.

Q. What about parking during the Summer Institute? A. Free parking is available during the Summer Institute.

Q. Is a meal plan available for the Summer Institute A. We are working on food accommodations at the UMASS Blue Wall Eateries. Updated information is forthcoming. However, dinner on Thursday and Saturday will be on your own (in town). See the Restaurant for a list). The MALCS receptions on those nights will be catered.

Q. What is the UMASS policy on smoking? A. Yes, we’re a smoke-free campus

Q. What about childcare information? A. We are working on possible childcare accommodations and more information is forthcoming. The local site committee is currently working on childcare access. If you’re in need of childcare accommodations, please get in touch with Ellen Correa at ecorrea@umass.edu ASAP. We will also reach out to participants who noted in their proposal submissions that childcare accommodations were needed. Please not due to university policy, children will not be able to stay in the residential halls.
