Schedule at a Glance
The Schedule at a Glance for the Summer Institute has been released. You can refer to this schedule when planning your trip to Laramie to make sure you don’t miss any of the activities that await you. A more detailed preliminary program will be posted soon.
The first day of the Institute, there will be a welcome reception (with refreshments, music and dancers) featuring a special installation by MALCS artist Sarah Ortegon so plan to arrive early.
The Tortuga Awards Banquet will be on Saturday night after the Business meeting, so plan to stay until Sunday to be able to enjoy this annual MALCS tradition.
Amtrak discount
Taking a train to travel may be a better/safer option for some Summer Institute attendees. Well, Amtrak will give a 10% discount off their fares (details here)! Thanks to MALCS At Large Representative Martha Acevedo for arranging this.
FREE bike rentals!
Laramie is bike friendly and it is easy to get around on bikes.
The Pedal House in downtown Laramie will be giving FREE rentals to MALCS members during the Summer Institute. They will have bike helmets and safety locks for rent to go with the bikes.
