The #50 bus goes from the airport to the UNM Central campus. At the Sunport, the #50 is located on the lower level at the west end of the shuttle island, look for the Bus Stop Signs
Train
Albuquerque is also a major stop on Amtrak Railway lines from Chicago and Los Angeles. The Albuquerque station welcomes the “Southwest Chief” once a day from each direction.
Bus
For visitors traveling by bus, Albuquerque’s Greyhound station is the area’s hub, receiving 40 buses a day from all US major cities.
Automobile
If traveling by car, you will find access to Albuquerque from two major Interstate Highways, Interstate 25 and Interstate 40. which intersect at the City’s center.
The University is bordered on the West by University Blvd, the North by Lomas Blvd, the South by Central Blvd, and the East by Girard Blvd.
When driving to Albuquerque on I-25 southbound:
- Take Exit 224B, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. / Central
- Turn LEFT onto Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
- You will enter the UNM campus at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and University.
- Turn LEFT onto Redondo Rd. Follow until you reach the stop sign at Las Lomas.
- Turn RIGHT onto Las Lomas. This will turn into Campus Blvd. Continue on Campus Blvd. until you reach Redondo.
- Turn RIGHT onto Redondo at the stop sign.
- Continue on Redondo – it will curve to the right.
- You will see the Visitor Parking Structure on your right hand side.
- Turn RIGHT to enter Visitor Parking Structure.
When driving to Albuquerque on I-25 northbound:
- Take Exit 224B, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. / Central
- Turn RIGHT onto Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
- You will enter the UNM campus at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and University.
- Turn LEFT onto Redondo Rd. Follow until you reach the stop sign at Las Lomas.
- Turn RIGHT onto Las Lomas. This will turn into Campus Blvd. Continue on Campus Blvd. until you reach Redondo.
- Turn RIGHT onto Redondo at the stop sign.

- Turn RIGHT to enter Visitor Parking Structure.
When driving to Albuquerque on I-40 eastbound:
- Take Exit 160, Carlisle
- Turn RIGHT onto Carlisle.
- Continue on Carlisle until you reach Lomas.
- Turn RIGHT onto Lomas.
- Enter the UNM campus by turning LEFT at the University Hospital / Lomas light.
- Turn LEFT onto Campus Blvd.
- Turn RIGHT onto Redondo. Continue on Redondo – it will curve to the right.
- You will see the Visitor Parking Structure on your right hand side.
- Turn RIGHT to enter Visitor Parking Structure.
When driving to Albuquerque on I-40 westbound:
- Take Exit 160, Carlisle
- Turn LEFT onto Carlisle.
- Continue on Carlisle until you reach Lomas.
- Turn RIGHT onto Lomas.
- Enter the UNM campus by turning LEFT at the University Hospital / Lomas light.
- Turn LEFT onto Campus Blvd.
- Turn RIGHT onto Redondo. Continue on Redondo – it will curve to the right.

- Turn RIGHT to enter Visitor Parking Structure.
Campus Parking
Conference Parking:
Visitors who are on campus for a conference should park in the Visitor Parking Structure or at a meter.
Weekend Parking:
After 8:00 p.m. on Friday evening, and all day Saturday and Sunday, visitors may park in any permit zone. Please do not park in a reserved or handicap space or next to any colored curb at any time, 7 days a week.
