MALCS (Mujeres Activas en Letras y Cambio Social) is an organization by and for Chicanas/Latinas, Afro-Latinas, and Indigenous/Native American women working in and across multiple communities. This yearly gathering brings together a diverse group of women from across the continent to share academic, creative, and activist work. Our theme for this year’s institute is: Transfronteras: Geographies and Generations . We encourage panels that will promote interdisciplinary and transcomunal conversations.
We accept individual papers, group panels, roundtables, workshops, poster presentations, and informal discussions of research-in-progress. Scholars in the Natural Sciences especially encouraged to present on-going research, posters, power-point presentations, or workshops on surviving as women of color in the Sciences.
Submissions Guidelines: For each participant, please include the following: 1) Contact information; 2 ) One-page CV/resume; 3) 250-word abstract.; 4) Specification of AV (audio/visual) equipment needed.
